The Fife Taekwondo Group, under 14yrs Competition takes place at 9:30am at Victoria Hall, Coaltown of Balgonie. Entry for competitors is £5 and access for Spectators is free.

A Meeting for all Instructors, Students and Parents of Students will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 12th August at the Otters Head, Happer Crescent, Glenrothes.

This meeting is an oppertunity to discuss all issues within the group and become informed of all the exciting events planned for the future. Please make every effort to attend if you can.

The next grading will take place at Markinch Memorial Hall on Saturday 19th September 2009.

Registration times as follows
Rainbows: 9am registration – grading begins at 9:15pm
White – Green Stripes: 10am registration
Green Belt + Above: 11am registration.

On attending at the grading you must register, present your membership handbook and then attend at the theory station in order to be tested on your mandatory theory questions.

There has been an addition to the Fife Taekwondo Group syllabus. There is now a 4 directional kicking drill added to each grade as follows. This has been added to develop the technical kicking abilities of all students. Not only must the student be able to perform the kick but they should also be able to understand the principles and application of each kick performed.

White Belt- Front Kick, Yellow Stripe – Side Kick, Yellow Belt – Turning Kick, Green Stripe – Hook kick, Inward and Outward moving Crescent Kick, Green Belt – Axe Kick, Twisting Kick, Blue Stripe – Reverse side Kick, Double turning kick, Blue Belt – Reverse Turning Kick, Revere Hook Kick, Jumping Front Kick, Red Stripe – Flying side kick, reverse hook kick turning kick, Red Belt – Jumping reverse side kick, jumping reverse turning kick, jumping 360 degrees turning kick

New Student handbooks are currently in production and will be distributed to all students over the next few weeks. The handbooks are a guide to assist you in your training and contain all details regarding the grading syllabus for each grade.

The hand books are free of charge.

Fife Taekwondo Group have been confirmed as the hosts for the ITS Fight Night 2010. The event has been booked for Saturday 13th March 2010 at the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes.

The night will consist of many exciting events including a senior black belt demonstation and upto 20 different fights, including the main event, Scotland vs England adult male teams.

A meeting will soon be arranged for all instructors, students and parents of students in order to establish a “fight night committee”

Technical training is now available to all yellow stripe to green stripe students. The class takes place every Sunday and costs only £1!
The session will focus on the technical aspects of Taekwondo such as Patterns, Techniques and pre-set sparring drills.

Please speak to your instructor who will confirm times venue etc!

Senior technical training will now be taking place every Sunday. The training is open to students, green belt and above. The session will last approximately 1 hour and will concentrate on patterns, techniques, pre-set sparring drills and other technical aspects of Taekwondo.

The session is not a formal class and do-boks are not required however feel free to wear them if you wish.

If you wish to attend please speak to your instructor who will update you with details regarding the venue and times etc as these may change week to week.

In preparation for next years Fight Night and international events at The ITS British Championships, Scotland Squad training will now take place every Friday.

The training is open to all adult students however you must have the approval of your club instructor on a weekly basis before you attend. The training session only lasts one hour however it will be very physically demanding so if attending you must be prepared to give it your all!

Folks, the class on Monday 13th July 2009 at Pitteuchar is now ON. I had previously cancelled this class due to work commitments but Mr Fisher is available to take it.
