GLENROTHES – CADHAM – CHANGE OF TRAINING TIMES

Cadham Taekwondo Club has been running for some time now and has expanded into a very busy class. With the numbers continuing to grow every week, it has been neccessary to split the class into seperate Rainbow and Junior classes.

From now on the class times will be as follows:

Rainbows (4yrs-7yrs): 5:45pm – 6:15pm
Juniors (8yrs and above): 6:15pm – 7pm

It is appreciated that the rainbows have now lost some time from their class, however it is anticipated that the split class will allow better training for the needs of the younger students.

If any students will be struggling with the new times then please speak to Mr Fisher who will do everything possible to accomodate the students needs

BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 – A successful event

The ITS British Championships took place on Sunday 16th May and it proved to be a successful and exciting event for all those involved.

Fife Taekwondo Group was requested to submit an adults, male and female Scottish team for the event. Being the only ITS group in Scotland, the international teams comprised of members from the Woodside and Pitteuchar clubs as follows:
SCOTLAND MEN: Ross Fisher, Paddy Paterson, Allan Roy, Willie Aitken, Andy Hutchison (Sparring only), Darren Fullerton (Patterns only)
SCOTLAND LADIES: Joanne Shaw, Cheryl Blakey, Karen Fisher, Michelle Slater.

Both the teams put on an excellent and solid display in both the Team Patterns and Sparring sections against teams from England, Wales and USA which all comprised of teams with considerably higher grades and more experience. A number of members won their fights against some very good competitors.

The following junior students also attended and all put in an excellent performance at the competition:
Connel Fullerton, Neve Stewart, Niamh Roberts, Kyra Stevenson, Shannah Stewart, Poppi Roberts.

The following students won medals:
Poppi Roberts (Leslie) – Bronze Patterns
Shannah Stewart (Woodside) – Gold Continueous Sparring
Kyra Stevenson (Woodside) – Silver points sparring
Neve Stewart (Woodside) – Gold points sparring
Connel Fullerton (Pitteuchar) – Gold Patterns

Darren Fullerton (Pitteuchar) – Gold Patterns
Andy Hutchison (Woodside) – Gold points sparring
Mr Paddy Paterson (Pitteuchar) – Bronze Patterns
Mr Ross Fisher (Woodside/Cadham) – Gold Patterns, Bronze points sparring, Silver continueous sparring.

Given the high level of competition at the event to win all these medals is a massive achievement for our group and all that attended should be extremely proud of themselves and the way that they competed.
