NEW TRAINING TIMES – WOODSIDE
Due to the popularity of the Woodside club and the large amount of students attending we have had to split the club. Starting from Tuesday 29th September the new training times will be as follows
RAINBOWS (under 8yrs) 6pm – 6:30pm
JUNIORS 6:30pm – 7:15pm
ADULTS 7:15pm – 8:30pm
Rainbows which have attained the grade of purple belt or above may also train with the Junior class, however this is to supplement their training within the rainbow class.

CASINO NIGHT FUND RAISER – SAT 10TH OCTOBER
A Casino night fund raiser has been arranged for Saturday 10th October. The night has been arranged to raise funds for the Fight Night in March next year. It is vital that everyone involved with Fife Taekwondo Group makes every effort to attend and support the event.
Every student/parent will be asked to try to sell 5 tickets for the event.
The event is a really fun social night which involves 2 hours of fun, good-willed gambling on the casino events, and a disco for the remainder of the night. There is a bar at the event.
The event takes place at Victoria Hall, Coaltown of Balgonie, and begins at 7:30pm on Saturday 10th October. Tickets cost £5 however this entitles you to £5 worth of chips to gamble with.
FIFE TKD GROUP MEETING
A Meeting for all Instructors, Students and Parents of Students will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 12th August at the Otters Head, Happer Crescent, Glenrothes.
This meeting is an oppertunity to discuss all issues within the group and become informed of all the exciting events planned for the future. Please make every effort to attend if you can.
GRADING – 19TH SEPTEMBER
The next grading will take place at Markinch Memorial Hall on Saturday 19th September 2009.
Registration times as follows
Rainbows: 9am registration – grading begins at 9:15pm
White – Green Stripes: 10am registration
Green Belt + Above: 11am registration.
On attending at the grading you must register, present your membership handbook and then attend at the theory station in order to be tested on your mandatory theory questions.
ADDITION TO FIFE TKD SYLLABUS – 4 DIRECTIONAL KICKING
There has been an addition to the Fife Taekwondo Group syllabus. There is now a 4 directional kicking drill added to each grade as follows. This has been added to develop the technical kicking abilities of all students. Not only must the student be able to perform the kick but they should also be able to understand the principles and application of each kick performed.
White Belt- Front Kick, Yellow Stripe – Side Kick, Yellow Belt – Turning Kick, Green Stripe – Hook kick, Inward and Outward moving Crescent Kick, Green Belt – Axe Kick, Twisting Kick, Blue Stripe – Reverse side Kick, Double turning kick, Blue Belt – Reverse Turning Kick, Revere Hook Kick, Jumping Front Kick, Red Stripe – Flying side kick, reverse hook kick turning kick, Red Belt – Jumping reverse side kick, jumping reverse turning kick, jumping 360 degrees turning kick
